Aloe /ˈæloʊiː/

Aloes is a group of plants containing over 500 unique species described as a flowering succulent with thick leaves. Aloes are native to Africa and the islands off the coast of Africa including Sardinia, Madagascar, and the Arabian Pennisula.

Aloes in recent times have been subject to a lot of hybridizing in attempt to create the best color, vigor, and statue. Although I’m personally not a fan of most hybrids; they have become accepted and very popular within people’s gardens and collections.

California has a great climate to grow these specimens and they make a great addition to anyone’s Cycad garden.
